The Lion an the Bull

A reductive linoleum print of my main character Qan and his bride Evelyn. The project required a pair of related prints on a single sheet with the stipulation that one had to be mostly black and another mostly white. When it comes to related yet opposing characters, Qan and Evelyn were designed with such a theme in mind. Qan is masculine, precise, authoritative, and associated with lightning. Evelyn in contrast is feminine, rash, adaptable, and associated with fire. They are also associated with lions and bulls respectively, both animals linked to divine beings, particularly in Christianity. I pushed the Christianity theme home with the symbols in their frames. I still have the printing matrix for these and I'd like to remake this in scarlet and crimson, as those are colors I like using when drawing these characters.
