Beetle Knight

Beetles have always been cool creatures, particularly because of their natural armor. I like them even more because that natural armor translates well to the idea of a knight in armor modeled after a beetle. The concept of a beetle knight is rather common, at least when I do a web search, but I figured it was about time I got my own interpretation out there. I went with a rhinoceros beetle as the basis for the helmet and felt that the typical black coloration and brown hair would be complimented well by some green. Given their importance to Egyptian culture, I decided to put some hieroglyphs on his tabard. The spear underneath the beetles is a result of a recent D&D campaign I was running where the players encountered the Celtic god Lugh, who I decided should have an association with beetles in my setting (Lugh being the father of Cu Chulainn, wielder of Gae Bolg [spear]).
